A Manitoba health card allows you to see a doctor, get a prescription, visit a hospital emergency room or use most other health services. If you don’t already have one, registering for a health card is your first step. If you have one, carry it with you at all times. You will need it to receive care at a clinic, or hospital.
Where should you go when you are sick or injured? Find your right care. Search this site to understand your options. This is a great tool to find a close walk-in clinic, quick care clinic, find a pharmacist etc. We are fortunate to have one of the two Winnipeg quick care clinics located on McGregor. Remember, if it is an emergency, dial 9-1-1.
The above link will provide you with current Winnipeg hospital ER wait times. It will show average wait time, and longest non-urgent wait time. The reason why some wait longer than others is that they are treated not on a first-come-first-serve basis, but on a scale of severity. The medical professionals at our healthcare facilities will make this decision.
